The Department of Restorative Dentistry focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of structural and substance loss in hard dental tissues resulting from caries, trauma, abrasion, erosion, discoloration, or developmental disorders. The primary objective in this field is to restore the health, function, and aesthetic appearance of teeth while preserving as much natural tooth structure as possible.
Clinical procedures performed in our department include the treatment of carious lesions, direct and digital restorative applications, aesthetic restorations, tooth whitening, the management of tooth discoloration, and the restoration of substance loss caused by trauma or abrasion. Treatment planning involves a comprehensive evaluation of the patient's oral health, functional requirements, aesthetic expectations, and the preservation of existing tooth structure.
In addition to clinical services and educational activities, our department conducts scientific research on restorative materials, hard dental tissues, adhesion, aesthetic dentistry, preventive treatment approaches, and innovative materials. These studies aim to contribute to the body of academic knowledge while providing patients with treatments that are more successful, biologically compatible, and capable of achieving long-term clinical success.
