Department of Endodontics; It is a branch of dentistry that deals with the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of pulp and periapical (around root apex) tissues and the morphology, physiology and pathology of human teeth.

Teeth that have lost their vitality due to mechanical or thermal trauma independent of large caries or caries can be treated with root canal treatment. In such cases, tooth extraction can also solve the problem, but root canal treatment provides the opportunity to continue its function functionally by keeping the tooth in the mouth.

Other situations where root canal treatment is required are;

- Toothache that does not respond to treatment and continues for a long time despite the fillings made due to caries,

- The need for prosthetic restoration due to excessive loss of substance,

- Teeth that are irreversibly affected by orthodontic force applications,

- Presence of abscess or chronic inflammation in the tooth,

- Situations such as failure of previous root canal treatment.

As Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University Faculty of Dentistry Department of Endodontics, our aim is to provide the best treatment to our patients and to train our students in the best practical and theoretical way.
